SEVERAL SCHOOLS ISLANDWIDE RECEIVE BOMB THREATS

Classes in at least 4 of the nation’s schools were disrupted this morning, due to reported bomb threats.

Students and staff at the Denbigh High School in Clarendon, the William Knibb Memorial High School in Trelawny and Queens High School and Immaculate in the Corporate Area along with Greater Portmore High were asked to evacuate the institutions to ensure their safety.

Education Minister, Fayval Williams said bomb squads were deployed to the schools, and efforts are being made to ensure the safety of other institutions.

The police say they have launched a probe into the threats.
