REGGAE BOYZ BEATEN 2-1 BY GUADELOUPE IN CONCACAF UNDER 17 CHAMPIONSHIP

Jamaica’s national Under 17 Reggae Boyz suffered a setback last night, going down 2-1 to Guadeloupe in their quest to book an early spot to the last 16 of the CONCACAF Under 17 Championships in Guatemala.

The young Boyz took a first half lead in the Group C fixture, courtesy of a 41st minute strike from Ronaldo Barrett, however the young Boyz lost Barrett who was shown the red card in the 52nd minute.

Guadeloupe then pulled level through Willan Jacques in minute 77, before Yian Moloza found the winner a minute from full time.

With the result the young Reggae Boyz who opened their campaign with a 4-2 win over Cuba on Sunday, faces group C’ leaders Costa Rica in their final group game tomorrow (Thurs) for a place in the round of 16.
