Prime Minister Andrew Holness has given indication that he will not call an early election, declaring that election is not on his mind.
He stated that the government must not interrupt progress for elections.
Local government elections are due by next February and general elections by 2025.
Mr. Holness said instead, he is focused on ensuring that Jamaicans especially those at the base of society, benefit from the improvement in the economy.
He blasted those he described as “power mongers”.
