Opposition Spokesperson on Education Dr. Angela Brown Burke is once again urging the Ministry to ensure that teachers who participated in the National Summer School Programme are paid.

The Ministry had stated that outstanding payments would be completed last month.

Over 3,500 teachers engaged in the sessions, and the Ministry says more than 2,000 have been processed and paid.

However, according to reports, some teachers declared that they have not yet been paid and as a result, it is difficult for them to meet their needs and provide for their families.

Dr. Brown Burke says the teachers deserve to be treated better.
