One man was shot dead, while a woman has been hospitalised with burns, after a premises in Gregory Park St. Catherine was reportedly fire bombed today (Sat).
The identity of the deceased, said to be a taxi operator, has not yet been released.
Over 40 persons have been left homeless.
Head of the Police Communications Unit CCU Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, said based on reports, the alleged arsonists targeted one of the board dwellings on the premises, but the blaze quickly spread to ten others.
She said when the attackers were leaving, shots were fired and a man operating a taxi nearby was hit.
