A 48-hour curfew has been imposed in a section of the Gregory Park Community, Caymanas in St. Catherine.
The curfew began at 6:00 this evening (Sat) and will run until 6:00pm Monday, August 14.
The boundaries of the curfew cover: the Dyke Road, Portmore Villa Boulevard and Municipal Boulevard
During the hours of the curfew, all persons within its boundaries are required to remain within their premises for 48 hours, unless otherwise authorised by the ground commander.
The curfew comes as residents panic over the alleged firebombing of 11 houses on Walkers Avenue some time after 3:30 this morning (Sat).
One man was shot dead, while a woman has been hospitalised with burns.
Over 40 persons have been left homeless.
