Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah has pulled out of Saturday’s 100m meeting with Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith in Birmingham.

According to her management agency, the 29-year-old withdrew “out of an abundance of caution after she experienced some discomfort in training”.

Thompson-Herah – the second fastest woman in history, was set to run in the 100m in an eagerly awaited contest along with Tokyo bronze medallist and compatriot Shericka Jackson and Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith who won 100m silver at the 2019 world championships.
