An appeal filed by the Jamaica Football Federation against a the red card shown to Reggae Girl captain Khadija “Bunny” Shaw in the closing stages of the nil-all draw against France in their opening FIFA World Cup match on Sunday has been dismissed.

Football’s world governing body FIFA handed down the ruling today, which means Shaw will now miss the crucial game against Panama on Saturday.

Shaw was controversially carded for a second bookable offence in second half stoppage time.

The JFF subsequently filed necessary paper work to appeal the contentious decision.
