Flash Flood Warning in effect for Portland & St. Mary

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Portland and St. Mary effective immediately.

Meantime, A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the parishes of St. Ann, Trelawny, St. James and Hanover.

The met office says a Trough that has been affecting weather conditions across Jamaica has drifted away from the island.

It says although the Tough remains across the western Caribbean, observational data indicates a reduction in showers, as only light to moderate showers have affected hilly areas and sections of western parishes over the last few hours.

The forecast is for cloudy conditions mainly across eastern and south-central parishes tonight and tomorrow morning.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected mainly across hilly areas and western parishes and mostly cloudy elsewhere tomorrow afternoon.
