Bank of Jamaica Governor, Richard Byles has expressed confidence that Jamaica’s economy is not headed for a recession.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Governor Byles said Jamaica still has the capacity to drive growth in its economy.

He cited sectors such as tourism and mining, as ones which have untapped potential.

Governor Byles said the Central Bank’s tightening of its fiscal policy should not prevent achievement of the targeted growth of 2 to 4 per cent, for this financial year.
