4 IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING SEIZURE OF DRUGS, CASH AND VEHICLES IN ST. ANN AND KINGSTON

Four men including 2 airport workers are in police custody, after lawmen seized a quantity of drugs, over a million dollars in cash and 3 motor vehicles in 2 separate operations in St. Ann and Kingston, yesterday.

In the first incident at about 1pm, cocaine with an estimated street value of 18 million dollars was seized at a plaza in Ocho Rios.

The police say during the operation, two motor vehicles were intercepted at a plaza and searched.

During the search 3.8 kilograms of cocaine were found concealed in food packages in one of the vehicles.

One hundred and 18 thousand dollars in cash was also found and seized.

The two men who were travelling in the vehicles were arrested and the cars seized.

Shortly after in Kingston, 55 pounds of ganja were found at the Norman Manley International Airport.

Police say during the operation which began at about 3pm, a motor vehicle was searched, and the ganja with an estimated street value of $540,000 was found concealed in a suitcase in the trunk of the motor car.

1.2 million dollars which was also found in the car was seized.

Lawmen say four airport ramp attendants were arrested.

Two were later released.
