Some Instagram users do not agree with Dancehall artiste Beenie Man about him being the rightful king of Dancehall.
This past Thursday, TV station Fox 5 New York featured Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel and announced that he was the king of Dancehall. Beenie then posted a series of throwbacks on his Instagram starting with a photo of his younger self captioned,
“1995 before social media, streaming platforms and digital media. Then and now. and had a number of hashtags, including #dancehallking.
It didn’t take long before comments came rolling in. Some users agreed with Beenie, saying that he is the king of Dancehall, with some comments such as,
“When beenie enter the stage place doneeee cho beenie close every stage show u the king ?”
Also
“Si the real king yah, up mi boss king a king”
However, some users disputed his claims saying,
“Addi adi king right now .all unu haffi accept the fact and retire gracefully as gracefully as dancehall king”
Another user said,
“you are not the king of dancehall you did nothing for dancehall!.. bounty killa did a lot for dancehall so he’s the rightful king of your era! vybz kartel is the king of this era n forever after so stop crying“
