UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN JAMAICA CONTINUES TO FALL

Jamaica’s unemployment rate fell to six per cent in April, continuing the downward trajectory that’s been occurring over recent months.

This was disclosed by, Director General of the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, STATINCarol Coy.

She was speaking during STATIN‘s quarterly press briefing today (July 15).

She said male unemployment rate fell from 7.5 percent, to 4.7 percent, while the corresponding figure for females, dropped to 7.6 percent.
