Tobago will host its first Carnival in October.
This from the country’s Secretary of Tourism & Culture Tashia Grace Burris, who was speaking at the Tobago House of Assembly (THA’s), during an executive council media briefing, titled “Mandate Monday” this morning.
Burris said the date has already been selected for the festival.
She said it will take place from October 28 to October 30, 2022.
Burris said a dynamic Carnival committee has already been put in place for the festival. In giving a report from her division, Burris said 475 grants were handed out to tourism workers affected by the shutdowns brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Burris said the division is currently processing about 100 more grants and those are expected to be distributed soon.
