Dancehall artist Skeng has made a grand return to Guyana after 2 years.
Skeng was banned from performing in Guyana following a shooting incident in May 2022, during his performance.
The ban was implemented in June of that year.
At the time, Guyana’s Minister of Home Affairs stated that “we will not sign off on any such artist or any artist who has a record of promoting vulgar and lawless behaviour including the firing of gunshots in public places. We reject it completely.”
Now, through his management team, the Dancehall Artiste returned to the country and delivered an energetic set Saturday night at the ‘Black On Black‘ party in Linden.
In a statement shared via Instagram, his rep, Showtimes Services’, noted the challenges often faced by dancehall artists, attributing Skeng’s triumphant return to the determination of his Manager Cara Burke, who actively worked to change the narrative surrounding the artist.
