The country is to be updated early this week on the new COVID-19 measures that will be implemented as part of efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The measures now in place, expire tomorrow August 10, and Prime Minister Andrew Holness has already said even tighter COVID-19 measures will take effect on August 11.

Public health experts and medical associations have intensified calls for the Government to tighten the measures, as the country experiences daily increases in COVID-19 cases.

Saturday saw the highest number of cases since the third wave began, recording 379.
