37-year-old Hanover-based taxi driver Gregory Roberts was found guilty on Wednesday of the murder of 15-year-old schoolgirl Shineka Gray.

Gray, a student of Green Pond High school in St James was murdered in January 2017.

Her body with multiple stab wounds was found on February 1, three days after she was last seen alive in Montego-Bay, coming from a schoolmate’s funeral.

After over 5 hours of deliberation on Wednesday, the jury returned a guilty verdict for Roberts.

The verdict follows the conviction of Roberts’ co-accused Mario Morrison who pleaded guilty in September 2022 to the murder and made a plea deal to testify for the prosecution at Robert’s trial.
