Prime Minister Andrew Holness has declared Public States of Emergency in several parishes, to curtail upsurges in violent crimes.
The Prime Minister made the announcement a short while ago at Jamaica House.
The the SOEs have been declared in the parishes of Clarendon, St. Catherine and sections of Kingston and St. Andrew, Hanover, St. James and Westmoreland.
The enhanced security measures will initially run for a period of 14 days.
