Six families are now homeless after a fire destroyed several board homes along Bread Lane in Denham Town, Kingston last evening (Mon).

Police say a report of a house fire was made around 7: 45 PM.

27 firefighters along with four fire engines from the York Park, Half Way Tree and Rollington Town fire stations responded to the blaze.

The fire, which initially started in one dwelling, reportedly spread to seven others, before being brought under control.

No death or life-threatening injury was reported.

However, loss is estimated at $450,000.

Investigators have not yet determined what caused the blaze.
