Shaggy Calls For the Reinstatement of Beenie, Bounty US Work Permits

Jamaican Superstar Shaggy has made a plea on behalf of Dancehall legends Bounty Killer and Beenie Man following their verzuz battle on Saturday.

While congratulating Beenie Man and Bounty Killer on the success of the latest verzuz battle, Shaggy pleaded with the powers that be to grant the two stars visas so they could tour the world and spread Jamaica’s Culture.
Shaggy noted that the battle was a boost for our spirits, tourism, our economy, our music, and most importantly brand Jamaica.
He said fans worldwide were greeted with a cultural experience of epic proportions as best as it could be delivered in these COVID times”.
The entertainer called on Jamaicans to rally and push for them to be granted permits.
He called on the US Embassy, Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Culture Minister Olivia Grange to get involved for the sake of the culture, our music, and our economy.
Close to half a million tuned in to the verzuz battle on Instagram Saturday night, to watch the battle, curated by super producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.
The clash was so massive that senator and Vice-President of the People’s National Party, Damion Crawford, said dancehall music may have just saved tourism in Jamaica.
Prime Minister also joined in the live and later tweeted that Jamaica’s Culture is global.
