American fan favourite Sha’Carri Richardson will have to wait another year to make her debut in the women’s 100m event at a global track and field meet, this after she ran a pedestrian 11.31 seconds, to finish fifth in heat three of the women’s 100m event on yesterday’s opening day of the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene Oregon.

The race was won by Tamari Davis in 11.04 seconds with Jenna Prandini second in 11.18 and Shania Collins third in 11.24 seconds.

The result means Richardson, who dodged the media after the race, failed to advance to the semi finals.

The colorful sprinter won the 100m event, at the US Olympic trials last year, but was then disqualified for testing positive for marijuana and missing the Tokyo Olympic Games.
