Classes were in full swing across the island today, following last Friday’s closure of schools due to severe weather.

Schools were ordered closed due to heavy rain impacting the island.

Several parishes including St Andrew, Portland and St Thomas reported flooding.

President of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association, Leighton Johnson said reports so far suggest that was well.

Meantime, Mayor of Morant Bay Hubert Williams said he has not received any report of a school remaining closed.

He said while some public transport vehicles have opted to avoid some parochial roads which were impacted by flooding, students still had access to transportation along the main road.
