Residents of Fairy Hill in Portland who are affected by water disruptions and the dust from work being done on the South Coast Highway Improvement Project, are to benefit from trucked water, this week.

Member of Parliament for Portland Eastern, Ann-Marie Vaz says drought allocations from the National Water Commission and the Ministry of Local Government will commence soon.

Her statement follows yesterday’s (Mon) protest by residents, who mounted roadblocks along the Fairy Hill main road.

Scores of students were among commuters left stranded, due to the roadblocks.

Noting that she too has been affected by the road works, Mrs. Vaz said some form of relief will come this week.

Meanwhile…………..the China Harbour Engineering Company CHEC assures residents that the company will be ramping up efforts to minimize the dust nuisance, as works continue on the road network in Portland.

CHEC is the main contractor working on the Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project.
