The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica PSOJ is calling for the re-instatement of the Office of the Political Ombudsman
The government announced last year, that the Office of the Political Ombudsman, would be subsumed into the Electoral Commission of Jamaica.
Justice Minister Delroy Chuck explained last week, that he was disappointed that this has not yet occurred.
He noted that while a Cabinet submission has been done, the process continues and he is hoping for a completion in due course, however, the PSOJ states that amidst the recurring instances of political misconduct, there is an urgent need for the office to be re-instated.
