At least two divisions within the Jamaica Constabulary Force JCF have been engaged, to probe a major car stealing ring uncovered in St. Mary.

Some 41 stolen motor vehicles were found in the parish, after reports of two stolen cars were made to the police.

Head of the St. Mary police, Superintendent Bobbette Morgan Simpson, said that one of the missing cars was tracked and a search ended at a site in the Comma community, where several cars were found – some of which were scrapped.

The Commanding Officer added that another area in Rocky Hill was searched, and additional vehicles were found.

She said some of the cars seemed fairly new and most of them were Toyota Axios.

Superintendent Morgan Simpson said the Stolen Motor Vehicles Unit and the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force have been engaged for assistance with the probe.

She is urging motor vehicle owners to be vigilant and install tracking devices.
