Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Peter Phillips have each expressed confidence in the projected outcome of today’s General Election which is ongoing.

Speaking to media at the Mona High School in St Andrew, where he was voting this morning, Mr Holness, while declining to give a definitive number of projected seats, the incumbent said the party expected to win more seats than they presently have (34) and “certainly no less than 35.”

For his part, Opposition Leader Peter Phillips publicly staked his political future on the election outcome, saying he intended to resign both his seat and his executive position if the PNP does not form the next Government.

Holness offered no willingness to resign if the JLP should be defeated.
