A national incentive campaign, aimed at finding illegal weapons in the country, is to be launched soon.
The decision was made, during Friday’s meeting of the National Security Council, NSC.
In a statement on Sunday, the Office of the Prime Minister said, the objective of the campaign, will be to educate the population on the dangers of illegal guns, dissuade persons from dealing, trafficking, procuring, possessing and using illegal guns.
It noted, that there will be a significant public education component, on the new firearms act, and the penalties that will be applied to persons, involved with illegal weapons.
