Several programs to popularize science in schools are being implemented by the Ministry of Science, Energy, and Technology.
The effort, according to Portfolio Minister Daryl Vaz, is aimed at building a scientifically literate society that can make informed judgments, better understand government decisions based on scientific evidence, and promote science as a viable and meaningful profession.
Minister Vaz stated that the Scientific Research Council’s efforts have revitalized and renewed the National Schools Science and Technology Society (SSTS) Program.
He was making his contribution to the 2022/23 Sectoral debate in the House of Representatives on May 10.
Since 1996, the club has been a part of over 700 schools, giving opportunities for students to be engaged in science and have a stronger understanding for it.
