A member of the Jamaica Defense Force JDF was arrested at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay St. James yesterday.
He was found with more than US$40,000 that he was unable to account for.
Reports are that about 1:30pm, the JDF member arrived on the island and was in the process of being checked by security personnel, when the US$40,400 was found in his possession.
He could not give a plausible account for the sum.
He was taken into custody by investigators assigned to the Lotto Scam Task Force.
His name is being withheld pending further investigations.
