The Annual General Meeting of the Jamaica Agricultural Society (JAS) which was slated for tomorrow (July 13) has been postponed indefinitely, following a ruling by the Supreme Court.

The ruling was made in a case brought by a JAS member over the nomination process for the election of officers.

The member wants nominations for the elections, which were delayed by COVID-19, to be re-opened to a wider pool of candidates.

JAS President Lenworth Fulton contended that the current set of nominees is still valid so there is no need for nominations to be re-opened.

He assured that the court case will not impact the operations of the JAS.
