JAMAICA RECORDS 8TH COVID-19 RELATED DEATH, TALLY NOW AT 422 CONFIRMED CASES

Jamaica has recorded its eighth coronavirus related death.

In a statement last evening, the Health Ministry revealed that the deceased is a 63 year old female from St. Catherine, who was a contact of a confirmed case.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has reported an additional 26 confirmed COVID cases, bringing the country’s tally to 422.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ National Surveillance Unit said of the 26 new cases, there are 9 males and 17 females, with ages ranging from 8 months to 63 years.

Three are employees of the workplace cluster in St. Catherine, 9 are contacts of employees in the workplace cluster in St. Catherine, 6 are contacts of other confirmed cases and 8 are under investigation.

There are now 203 confirmed COVID-19 cases, related to the workplace cluster in St. Catherine.
