Recording artiste Dexta Daps is once again the trending topic on social media, after his latest controversial single.
A number of persons on social media have taken issue with at least one line in the new single, Breaking News, which encourages females to poison their spouses if they have been battered or wronged during the relationship.
While women have long endured violence and other forms of abuse in relationships, some activists are encouraging that this is not the way to handle these situations.
Some women, however, have been openly accepting the idea online, and several memes have been circulating.
The memes also include one photoshopped to seem like a tweet from Prime Minister Andrew Holness discouraging the practice.
The Prime Minister has not acknowledged or addressed the issue publicly, even though the question was posted in the comments section of his live session yesterday.
A screenshot of that comment has also gone viral on social media.
The controversy comes after the dancehall artiste was released without charge from police custody last week.
He was detained on April 8 as part of an investigation into criminal activity in the St. Andrew South Police Division.
The snippet of the song had been previewed before Dexta was detained.
