The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, is probing the fatal shooting of a man on Jarrett Street in Montego Bay, St. James, last night (Fri).

Dead is Kadmar Beadle.

Reports are that an off-duty police officer, was involved in an altercation with a man at a bar, in the community.

It‘s alleged that Beadle used a knife to inflict a wound, to the abdomen of the policeman.

Beadle was subsequently shot by the cop.

Both men were taken to hospital, where Beadle was pronounced dead.

Assistant Commissioner of INDECOM, Hamish Campbell said that the probe is still in the early stages.

Meanwhile, irate residents used debris to block sections of Hart Street in the parish, this morning, in protest over Beadle’s death.
