In an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, Ice Spice referred to Drake as her coach.
“We talk all the time, and we’re always just laughing about some things that go on,” Spice shared with Lowe. She also confessed to seeking Drake’s counsel often, stating, “I’ll ask him, ‘What should I do with this?’ Or, ‘How’d you go about this? Or did you ever experience that?'”
According to Ice Spice, Drake provides valuable insight into what it means to be in the hip-hop business. “He’ll tell me, ‘I did this, and you should do that too because you can.’ And I’ll be like, ‘You’re right. Period. I’m going to do that.’ It’s like coach vibes,” the newcomer revealed.
This seems to dispel rumours of a rift between her and Drake.
If you can recall, a couple months ago, Drake seemingly snubbed Ice Spice on his single “Back Outside Boyz” after unfollowing her on social media.
The “Munch” artiste also mentioned Nicki Minaj as her mentor, stating that she receives guidance from both rappers.
