The government will be setting up a COVID-19 coordinating task force, as part of measures to help the country prepare for and fight against the deadly coronavirus.
This announcement by Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton, follows reports that the virus has reached the Caribbean, with cases recorded in at least three islands.
In a national broadcast last evening (Mon), Dr. Tufton pointed out that government has taken a two pronged approach to tackling the COVID-19.
One aspect is minimizing the risk of exposure to the local population.
The other is to enhance the capacity of the public health system to treat affected persons.
