Education Minister Fayval Williams says the Government will be embarking on a response to trauma initiative in schools, following the recent bomb threats.

More than 70 schools across the island suspended classes after receiving bomb threats.

Mrs Williams said the initiative will provide support services to students, faculty and staff who may have experienced emotional distress.

She said the programme will run until the end of December and will be in association with the Jamaica Fire Brigade, the police and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM).

Among the services that will be offered is coping skills lessons for school staff.
