GOV’T AND OPPOSITION EXPRESS CONDOLENCES TO HAITIAN PEOPLE FOLLOWING ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith has expressed sadness at the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.

Speaking during a Post Cabinet Press Briefing this morning (Wed) senator Johnson-Smith said the news is shocking.

She has offered condolences to the people of Haiti.

 

 

Prime Minister Andrew Holness also reacted to news of Mr. Moise’s killing.

He said he had met and spoken with President Moise many times and has described him, as a man committed to seeing Haiti take its place in the world.

Mr. Holness says the wicked act is a stain on Haiti and a sorrowful time for the region.

Opposition Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Lisa Hanna has also offered her condolences to the people of Haiti.
