Reigning World 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has withdrawn from the Botswana Golden Grand Prix due to a family emergency.
Fraser-Pryce, who last season ran a stunning 10.67 seconds at the Kip Keino Classic in Kenya, was billed as one of the star athletes to headline the event slated for April 29 where she was scheduled to make her second appearance in Africa and season’s debut in the women’s 100 meters.
Her withdrawal was confirmed by meet organizers via a press release on their Instagram handle.
