The Finance Ministry has allocated one hundred and eighty-nine million dollars, towards a new device for students aid programme, under the SERVE Initiative.

In making the announcement in Parliament yesterday (Wed), Portfolio Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke, said this will see each member of Parliament being given 3 million dollars, through the Constituency Development Fund.

Additionally, the Ministry will allocate $140 million dollars, for device purchase, to all divisional councillors, through the local government ministry.

Dr. Clarke stressed that this new programme, does not replace the Education Ministry’s device programmes, rather it compliments it.

The aid programme will target at least one hundred needy students from each constituency, to provide them with a digital device to facilitate online learning.
