Looks like reggae artiste has entered a new phase in her lawsuit against VP Records.

On Tuesday Etana’s lawyers submitted an amended complaint to the presiding judge after VP Records’ attorneys filed a motion to dismiss her current lawsuit against them. VP and its subsidiaries now have until May 10 2022 to respond to the amended complaint.

Back in January, Etana confirmed that she and Freemind Music LLC had filed a lawsuit against VP Records and a number of its subsidiaries in the Supreme Court in the state of New York over artist royalties, mechanical royalties, public performance royalties, and other monies allegedly due to her.

The suit states that the defendants “fraudulently concealed their true use and disposition of Etana’s masters, albums, compositions and recordings and have failed to render proper accounting statements regarding her royalties and accounting statements all in an effort to pocket millions of dollars”.
