Owen Farrell, England’s Rugby captain, will miss the whole Six Nations due to an ankle injury that will require surgery.

Head coach Eddie Jones had designated the 30-year-old, who has 94 caps, to mentor fly-half Marcus Smith during his first Six Nations season.

Farrell, who hasn’t played since limping out of England’s win over Australia in November, was set to return last weekend for Saracens.
However, while practicing with Saracens, he damaged his other ankle in a collision.

Farrell is scheduled to have surgery later today (January 26 2022), and the Saracens expect him to be sidelined for eight to ten weeks.
