Education Minister Fayval Williams says provisions are being made for more infrastructure upgrades this academic year, especially for students with special needs.

A number of schools have indicated they have students with special needs and require the construction of new or additional ramps.

Mrs. Williams said furniture is being distributed to schools.

Meanwhile, she said millions have been allocated towards electrical upgrades, and fencing.

Noting that the infrastructure of many institutions is decades old, Mrs. Williams said the maintenance will be ongoing.

She was speaking at a post-cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House yesterday (Wed).
