Head of the Kingston Western police, Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps is urging residents of the Denham Town community to cooperate with members of the joint security forces.
SSP Phipps said there have been several reports of assault on members of the Jamaica Defence Force JDF who are carrying out duties under the Zones of Special Operations ZOSOs.
Under the ZOSO members of the security forces are deployed to enhance security in communities that are also targeted for social intervention programmes.
SSP Phipps noted that residents and the JDF should avoid altercations, which could result in fatalities.
This, he said, is evidenced in the alleged fatal shooting of a resident by a JDF member during an alleged confrontation on Saturday.
