The management of the Cornwall Regional hospital in St. James is meeting with officials from the Western Regional Health authority following an incident this morning, involving a patient and his colleagues.
Regional Director, St. Andrade Sinclair said a statement will be issued on the matter following the meeting.
He emphasised that there is no threat at the hospital. Its reported that this morning, a man was taken to the hospital for treatment at the Accident and Emergency department.
Further reports are that a group of persons said to be friends of the patient, entered the hospital and demanded that he be let out.
Senior Medical Officer, Derrick Harvey said based on reports, medical staff indicated that the patient was not ready to be discharged. He said the man was later discharged.
