CARICOM members are to meet in Kingston on Monday, to discuss the State of Affairs in Haiti and other matters critical to the stabilization of security in that nation.

This, according to head of CARICOM and President of Guyana Dr. Irfaan Ali.

In an update last evening, Dr. Ali noted that CARICOM remains in deep discussions with various stakeholders in Haiti and Prime Minister, Dr. Ariel Henry.

He said while the regional group is making considerable progress, the stakeholders are not yet where they need to be.

Dr. Ali noted however, that CARICOM is acutely aware of the urgent need for consensus and has impressed upon the respective parties that time is not on their side in agreeing to the way forward.

Noting that the situation in Haiti is dire, Dr. Ali assured the Haitian people, that CARICOM will continue to work on their behalf until there is a satisfactory resolution that brings stability and relief to them.
