Bob Marley’s legendary life and career will be captured in the forthcoming film Bob Marley: One Love, and in a new clip shared on Monday, the late reggae star’s son, Ziggy Marley, gives actor Kingsley Ben-Adir the stamp of approval for his portrayal of his father.
Ziggy notes that during audition, Kingsley kept his attention adding that the actor did a great job in an artful way, and not trying to mimic his father Bob.
He also believes that Kingsley was able to bring out the human and emotional side of the legend.
According to the official synopsis for the Reinaldo Marcus Green-directed film, One Love “celebrates the life and music of an icon who inspired generations through his message of love and unity” and tells the tale of the singer-songwriter “overcoming adversity and the journey behind his revolutionary music.”
Bob Marley: One Love — produced in partnership with the Marley family — hits theaters on Jan. 12, 2024.
