There’s a weak High Pressure Ridge across Jamaica
The Met Office says this Ridge is expected to remain across the island throughout the weekend. Additionally, expect windy conditions mainly along coastal areas due to presence of a low level jet stream.
A Low-Level Jet Stream is a narrow band of fast flowing wind in the lower levels of the atmosphere.
This morning into this afternoon, expect Isolated showers across sections of northern and western parishes.
Tonight will also see showers mainly across sections of northern parishes.
A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.
Maximum temperature expected for Kingston today is 31 degrees Celsius, Montego Bay today 30 degrees Celsius.
