Former Barcelona star Xavi is set to take over as the club’s manager with Al Sadd saying they have agreed to allow him to join the Spanish giants.
The Spaniard, has been manager at Qatari club Al Sadd since 2019, but they agreed on Friday to let him join Barcelona after his release clause was met.
41- year- old Xavi, who played 779 games and won 25 titles with Barcelona, had said publicly he hoped “to go home” as Barcelona boss and that an agreement could be reached.
Barcelona says Xavi’s contract will run for the rest of the 2021-22 season and two more seasons.
