Thompson-Herah Flo-Jo’s World record Within Reach

Tokyo 2020 triple Olympic gold medal winner Elaine Thompson-Herah says Flo-Jo’s 1988 world record of 10.49secs is within her reach.

The 29 year old who set a new national record 10.54 last weekend at the Pre-fontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, the second fastest time ever, will have the longstanding record on her mind when she lines up tomorrow in the event at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting.

Six of the seven competitors who she beat in Tokyo to capture the Olympic gold medal will be in the event and weather permitting, she says she’d love to do it.
