Workers attached to the National Council on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, NCTVET this morning protested over the lack of action by the Ministry of Education and Heart NSTA, Trust, to resolve ongoing issues affecting them.

As early as 7am, several placard-bearing employees stood at the gates of the NCTVET Centre on Gordon Town road in St. Andrew, registering their anger over short contracts, insufficient benefits and earnings.

National Worker’s Union Delegate Earl Samuels says these issues emerged when the organization was placed under the Education Ministry.

He laments that the conditions have affected the workers, leading to this morning’s protest.

He stresses that the instability is affecting a number of workers mentally.

This is the second protest by NCTVET workers since the start of the week.
